Hittisau Bus Terminal

Hittisau is an increasingly important regional public transport hub. To support this development, a new bus terminal was conceived as an island platform which can service higher frequency and in which passengers can quickly change lines under the shelter of a single roof. The cantilevering roof is constructed from a thin concrete shell resting on pairs of slender steel columns. Beneath the roof, the bus terminal is furnished with benches, cycle stands and information display cases. A new recycling centre with a bespoke drop-off system was erected on site as part of the project.
