The property for the new leisure residence is in immediate vicinity to the summit of the Pfaender mountain near Bregenz. The prominent situation impresses with a fantastic panorama. In eastern direction nearly the whole landscape of the Bregenzerwald region gets visible, in western direction a miraculous view at the Lake of Constance comes up in a raised situation. The building form is subtly designed by the movements of the area in the crossing between ridge and steep slope. The slight kinks of the facades devide the volume horizontally and reduce the optical size of the house. Inside the building reacts to the precipitous slope situation sensitively with a split level system which allows continuous space situations and gentle space movements. Precisely sedate openings form a dramaturgy in the sequence of landscapes of different specification. The darkly coloured wooden facades follow in material and colour themes of buildings of early tourism architecture in the alpine area. The internal surfaces of regional silver fir provide for a pleasant atmosphere.
