Georg Bechter is an architect and designer from Hittisau who has made a name for himself primarily through ecologically oriented construction and innovative lighting design. Georg uses natural, regional, and recyclable materials such as wood, straw, clay, and sheep’s wool. One interesting project is his \u00bbDenkwerkst\u00e4tte\u00ab in Hittisau: an old stable was converted into a work and production building, using straw bales for insulation, clay from his own excavation pit, and an ice storage system for heating and cooling. We were given the opportunity to visit his office.<\/p>\n
