Children's House Lauterach
The Feßlerhaus will be preserved as an atmospheric and locally significant anchor point, carefully transformed and revitalised in the form of a children’s home. To accommodate its new functions, it will be gutted, while the solid, design-defining outer shell of the residential wing will be retained and lined with wood. The conceptual theme of layering in the historic building will be revisited. Two functional structures, designed as furniture, divide the floor plan into a total of five parallel layers with two main rooms on the gable side and a central access area. The former farm wing will be rebuilt as a structure open to the south and north in the sectional figure of the front building, with the shared roof naturally connecting the existing and new parts to form a harmonious whole. A garden house structures the outdoor space into a forecourt and garden.
